What’s on TV? 2015 Fall Preview

In this list, we will be taking a brief look at a selection of TV shows coming out this fall. Looking for a good show to follow? Well, here’s your guide:


Sunday, 13th 

“Project Greenlight” Season 4– HBO

Following three successful seasons, “Project Greenlight” will hit HBO again for its fourth. The documentary focuses on fresh-new filmmakers being given an opportunity to direct a feature film. The show had been nominated for three “Outstanding Reality Program” awards for the Primetime Emmy’s in past seasons and has a positive, 7.5/10 rating on TV.com. Exploring the depths of filmmaking, the show is easy to start watching even if one has not seen the previous seasons.

Thursday, 15th 

“The Bastard Executioner”– FX 

The show centers around a warrior, under King Edward the Third’s reign, whom vows to stop battling once and for all, starting anew as a simple folk (farmer.) He must pick up his sword again, however, when danger comes around, once more. Set in the medieval ages, the show will feature singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran playing what Metacritic describes as a “recurring” role. If you’re looking for a dark, intense, and bloody drama, look no further than “The Bastard Executioner.”

Saturday, 19th 

“Doctor Who” Season 9– BBC America 

The beloved alien, Time Lord is back again! Join Peter Capaldi, and companion, Clara Oswald, as they travel through time and space in the TARDIS. Catch the many exciting adventures on BBC America. Almost every episode in the series follows a different plot, but occasionally a story could span over more than a single episode. There could also be reoccurring themes.

Sunday, 20th 

“67th Emmy Awards”– FOX

Celebrate the best of television on the annual, Emmy Awards. For its 67th year, the award show will be hosted by comedian, Andy Samberg. See how many of your predictions were correct. We, at Give the Flak, know for sure that almost none of ours are right.

Monday, 21st 

“Minority Report”– FOX 

10 years after the end of Precrime in Washington DC one of the three PreCogs attempts to lead on a normal life while still suffering from visions of the future. Will they be able to hold it together or mentally breakdown and give up?”– IMDb Summary 

Tuesday, 22nd 

“The Muppets”– ABC 

After a long break from television, the Muppets are back to cheer us all up. Sit with the family, and laugh along with Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. The always-entertaining Muppets are sure to leave you smiling. The show, however, will not be The Muppet Show that you know and love, with its skits, songs, etc. Instead, ABC has decided to attract the older audience, with a mokumentary format, having Miss Piggy be a talk-show host (“Up Late with Miss Piggy”) and having the show explore the backstage of the talk-show, filled with Muppets.

Wednesday, 23rd

“Rosewood”– FOX

Watch what happens when the most well-known private pathologist in Miami, and the most tenacious detective collaborate to solve the most challenging cases in the town. Though he’s brilliant for sure, the ongoing optimism of Dr. Rosewood (pathologist), miffs detective Annalise Villa resulting in the two being in an awkward work relationship. However, week by week they always seem to crack the cases, in the comedy “Rosewood.”

Thursday, 24th 

“The Player”–NBC 

Wesley Snipes and Phillip Winchester star in a thrilling action-packed drama. Sit on the edge of your seat as Winchester attempts to stop enormous crimes from playing out…. all for a high stakes game for some wealthy gamblers, placing bets. This action drama, set in Las Vegas is sure to give you a thrill. It’s got gadgets and gizmos of plenty…. It’s got explosions and gun shots galore.

Sunday, 27th 


Looking into the lives of young FBI trainings recruits, in depth, this drama will answer the VERY commonly asked question of, “What happens (or what if) a ‘most-wanted’ is a top recruit in the FBI?” So, sit down on Sunday and follow this intense drama, as things begin to get marvelously twisted.

“Heroes Reborn”–NBC 

A reboot of the “Heroes” series on NBC. A year ago, a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives.”–IMDb 

Through the supernatural powers of these “Heroes,” they learn hidden secrets about our Universe, along with joining forces with many new characters.
