GIVE THE FLAK AWARDS: Best of TV 2015

This is the best of TV this year! In our opinion! In no particular order!

Please Like Me (Season 3)

Please_Like_Me

Kai’s TV Show of the Year
I don’t have a great love of romantic comedy TV shows, but this one does it right. It mixes family and friendship issues and problems with mental illness with a quick sharp wit perfectly, and it’s a show that everyone should watch.

Rick and Morty (Season 2)

Kai’s TV Show of the Year Runner Up
This year saw the return of Rick and Morty, and it was so good. Written perfectly, it made me wee myself with laughter. It is the best comedic TV show this year and I loved it

Hannibal (Season 3)

2015 brought the third (and last, unfortunately) season of Hannibal. The TV show is based upon the series of Hannibal books, and it’s a beautiful adaptation. It is written well, with some brilliant lines. It is shot perfectly, and the acting is beautiful. It is scary and captivating, and every episode kept me hooked.

Wolf Hall (Season 1)

Tyus’s TV Show of the Year

Okay, yeah, I know. It was released last year. Still, the show was aired on U.S. Television this year, so that’s my justification to put this fantastic TV series on this list. Based upon Hillary Mantel’s best-selling historical-novels, “Wolf Hall”(the TV series) captures every detail of the reformation with amazing detail and excellence. The extravagant sets to the gorgeous costumes sets the tone and mood of the show perfectly, while the superb acting makes you transfixed on every action that the character is taking. If you still haven’t seen it, I strongly urge you to watch “Wolf Hall.”

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Season 1)

Tyus’s Show of the Year Run-Up

After a few “meh” episodes at the start of the series, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” becomes a bullet-train, running ahead at one-thousand miles per hour, loaded to the brim with laughter, tongue-&-cheekiness, and over-the-top acting. A story about a twenty-something-year-old woman who sees the world for the first time since middle-school, the show is sure to give you a side-ache (at least once) from laughing.

Community (Season 6)

In 2015, we saw Community return for the sixth time, on Yahoo Screen. Although I was admittedly a bit skeptical about it at first, I was blown away by the first episode, and the series easily exceeded my expectations. It’s just as hilarious as the previous seasons, and if you’re looking for a good laugh one night, I would suggest that you look no further than “Community (Season 6).” All of the best aspects of the show remain, even with a lower production-budget.

So, that was our list of the best TV shows of 2015! Our best-of albums and songs list will be coming out soon! What was your favorite TV show/series? Let us know in the comments!
